Privacy Policy
Effective 19 September 2026
Qisma is an invite-only events app for university students. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Qisma app and qisma.party.
What we collect
- Account. Your name, your university email (used to verify that you are a student), your phone number if you add one, and a profile photo if you add one.
- Events. Events you host or are invited to, guest lists, your RSVP, and check-ins at the door. Entry codes are generated by Qisma and are only valid for a short time.
- Invites. When a host invites you by phone number or email, we store that contact detail so the invite can reach you. We do not upload your address book.
- Match. Match is off unless you turn it on for a specific event. If you do, we store your Match profile and your choices for that event. Nothing is shown to anyone unless the interest is mutual.
- Device. A push notification token if you allow notifications, and basic diagnostics (app version, crash reports) so we can fix problems.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not track your location in the background. An event's location is the address the host entered.
- We do not use Match data for anything except Match at that event.
Who sees what
Hosts see the guest list for their own events, including check-ins. Guests who have checked in can see which of their friends are at the same event. Your Match profile is visible only to other checked-in guests who also opted into Match at that event, and only when interest is mutual.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States) and protected with row-level security so that each person can only read what they are allowed to see. Photos and entry codes are hidden when you switch away from the app.
Your choices
- Notifications. Every reminder has an off switch in Settings. We send at most three a day and none between 2 and 9 AM.
- Match. You can turn it off at any time, per event or entirely. Turning it off deletes your Match choices for that event.
- Delete your account. Settings → Delete account removes your profile, invites, RSVPs and Match data within 30 days. Hosts keep an anonymised count of check-ins for their event.
- Export. Email hello@qisma.party and we will send you a copy of your data.
Age
Qisma is for university students aged 17 and over. Match requires you to be 18 or over.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Questions: hello@qisma.party. Security issues: security@qisma.party.
